Nurses Support Affordable Care Act before US Supreme Court
The American Nurses Association (ANA) joined 5 other health care groups in filing an amicus brief with the US Supreme Court in support of the Accountable Care Act (ACA) “minimum coverage provision”. Preserving this important component of health care reform if other aspects of the ACA are to be implemented effectively. The court will hear oral arguments in March and is expected to make its decision in June. A copy of the brief can be found (link to site- nursingworld.org).
The March 6 Primary is Rapidly Approaching
Be sure to vote in the March 6 primary. It is Ohio’s ONLY primary election so nurses should be looking at candidates for both the Ohio General Assembly and federal offices and getting involved in campaigns now. Often the connections that are made while working for a candidate form lasting ties that enable the nurse to have a significant role in shaping policy once the candidate takes office.
